Sarah Schaffer

Student Intern

Philip ParsonsSarah Schaffer, a second-year at Oberlin College, began interning at the Oberlin Heritage Center in the fall of 2006. There she's enjoyed giving history tours, researching houses, transcribing oral histories, and embarking on any other number of adventures with the OHC's friendly staff. Sarah was drawn to OHC after learning about Oberlin's fascinating beginnings and its reputation for progressive thinking. Now she wows her friends with stories about the people for whom the buildings on campus are named. Her work at OHC also complements her course of study - she's shaping up to be a history major with a particular interest in American history, industrialization, and the development of its public schools.

When she's not busy doing homework or maintaining her home at Keep co-op, Sarah copy edits (and sometimes writes) for Oberlin's alternative paper The Grape, devotes time to Oberlin's new radio collective AORTA, practices guitar, and dances recreationally. She hails from Alexandria, VA, just outside DC.
