Oberlin Heritage Center Staff
Mary Moroney
Student Intern
Mary was the 2007 summer intern at the Oberlin Heritage Center and our first intern who was an Oberlin native! Mary graduated from Oberlin High School in 2005 and attends Ohio University during the school year. Her major is Middle Childhood Education, specializing in English and History. She is involved with the Middle Childhood Collegiate Association at Ohio University. She is also a mentor for incoming freshmen to the College of Education and is involved in intramural sports such as sand volleyball, broomball, and basketball. She plans on doing her student teaching overseas in Ireland. Mary gave us an update on her internship towards the end of the summer: "I am really enjoying my internship here at the Oberlin Heritage Center because I plan on teaching history. Every day I learn things about Oberlin that fascinate me and make me appreciate the town even more. I feel privileged to work here with such a welcoming staff. All of my experiences giving tours, transcribing oral histories, and researching homes in Oberlin (among many other things) have been very rewarding."
