These donors no longer pay yearly membership dues, and continue to receive all of the benefits that annual membership provides. (They are, however still asked to contribute each year to our year-end Annual Fund campaign for general operating expenses.) The names of Endowed Life Members are permanently displayed at the Oberlin Heritage Center and published in our Annual Report each year, unless the donor wishes to remain anonymous.

What Our Members are Saying

Here are some of the things our members had to say about our organization in a recent survey:

  • "Oberlin is a state of mind, and people in far away places retain their love of it."
  • "Hats off to a very worthwhile organization."
  • "I think all of your programs are well-planned and seem very worthwhile."
  • "I feel that [the Oberlin Heritage Center] is extremely valuable, for it is presenting Oberlin, studying Oberlin, and helping Oberlin: presenting the town as a valuable force in a pivotal piece of history; studying the town as a place of very interesting places, the stage, so to speak, of interesting occurrences. And, doing this, helping Oberlin to become a dynamic modern community."
  • "Keep up the good work! You are an asset to the community."
  • "[The Oberlin Heritage Center] is a great organization!"

When asked why they support the Oberlin Heritage Center, our members agreed that helping to preserve Oberlin's history, historic buildings, and historic artifacts was the most important factor.
